Loud Stories
Be Loud Studios worked with 17 youth for five days of listening, questioning, recording, and creating about how misinformation impacts their lives.
What this project is
Youth-produced media
Seventeen New Orleans high schoolers wrote, recorded, and produced personal narratives, community interviews, and social reels about misinformation in their own lives.
Real questions, real stakes
What can we trust? How is technology changing what we believe? What are adults missing? Every piece of media starts from a question youth actually carry.
Made to be heard
Stories are published as audio, short video, and a free classroom curriculum so they keep circulating long after the week ends.

Five days of making media together
Misinformation isn’t an abstract issue for young people. It shapes what they see, who they trust, and how they understand their communities and the world around them. But too often, conversations about misinformation focus on what young people need to learn instead of what they already experience and understand.
Over the course of the week, youth explored these questions together and broke into production teams focused on narrative writing, expert interviews, and short-form video. Working alongside Be Loud producers, they took their ideas from early conversations through recording and final edits.
The goal wasn’t to tell young people what to think. It was to give them space to ask hard questions, listen to different perspectives, and create media that reflects their own experiences and what they believe adults need to hear.
